From: john on 4 Nov 2009 22:24 One thing mentioned is do not pump the brakes! You'll use up the vacuum reserve and end up without effective braking as the engine accelerates out of control. With the zig-zag shifter, practice shifting into neutral in a safe area first. It may not be as simple as pushing the shifter forward on some models. http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=8980024 http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/RunawayToyotas/
From: Uncle_vito on 4 Nov 2009 22:46 Folks need to practice the drop and roll. Like James Dean in Rebel without a cause. (The first time, when he does it right, not when he screws up and goes over the cliff).
