Hi folks -

I've got a '94 pickup with a 22-RE that has a flat spot in throttle
response about 2000-2200 rpm. It's been there since I bought the
truck (107k, now 185k) but it's been getting worse lately. It's most
noticable when the engine is transitioning from cold start to warmed
up ... ie as the thermostat is moving up to normal. Any suggestions
on where to start looking for the problem?

I experienced the same flat spot with my '92 22RE. A good local independent
Toyota shop could not verify it, but it drove me crazy - seemed to be worse
when the engine was cold. I kept thinking it was the TPS. One one occasion
I was adjusting/measuring the TPS when I noticed that the vaccuum diagram
under the hood didn't match the diagram in my Haynes manual. There is a
place in the throttle body when 4 vaccuum lines connect to the TB very close
to each other (near the front). Two of those (I think the middle two) were
swapped according to the under the hood diagram. I swapped those and never
had another problem with the flat spot. It could have just as easily been
the TPS adjustment, but one of those two things fixed the flat spot.
Good luck!

Thanx ... I'll take a look at the vaccuum plumbing and check out the
TPS adjusting.

I got the same problem but i don't got the manual can you be more

place where i can find those diagrams.

Thanks.

There should be a diagram pasted under your hood - that's the one that
worked for me.
There's also several available online, like at this site:
