It's the larger of two engines, ....1.8 liter I think...and the
five-spd.
I have done a lot of belt, including timing belt, changing on my
Volvo wagon. I need to change the serpentine belt on the Corolla, it
doesn't look too bad yet, but the car has 104K miles on it now. There
is not much clearance between shock tower and front of engine. Also do
I need a hoist to support the engine, as it looks like the upper front
mount/support has to be removed. Or can I just support the engine from
below with cinder blocks or something? WOuld just like to get an idea
how hard this one is to change. Would it be wise to change anything
else along with the belt? Nothing has yet been changed on engine, just
oil and filter changes.

You should not have to remove the front engine support to change the
accessory drive belt. Go to autozone.com, plug in your vehicle, click on
vehicle repair guides, then engine mechanical, then accessory drive belts,
then scroll down to your engine.

No timing belt yet? What's the recommended mileage for that repair?

Belt. Chain. What's the recommended mileage for that repair? Is there a
recommended interval for a chain as there is for a belt?
